Summer Academy 2012

On the 27-29 June of 2012, the forth IOS/APB Summer Academy in Tutzing took place.  The event was organized by Dr. Barbara Dietz and Ksenija Gatskova from the Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS Regensburg) in cooperation with the Akademie für Politische Bildung Tutzing (APB). The topic of the 2012 IOS/APB Summer Academy covered „Recent Challenges in Migration Research: Economic and Broader Development Issues”. Keynote lecturers included Alexander M. Danzer (Juniorprofessor of Economics at the University of Munich), Christian Dustmann (Professor of Economics at University College London) and Ira Gang (Professor for Economics at Rutgers University, New Brunswick). For the first time, the author of the most innovative paper presented at the Academy was honored with the Hans Raupach Award. We congratulate Sebastian Braun from Kiel Institut for the World Economy with this award received for the paper “Immigration and Structural Change: Evidence from Post-War Germany".
